I Apologize Deeply That I Have Not Posted In A While

Here's what I have missed telling you about:

I have gone to D. C., Long Island, and Long Beach.
I got braces (the sadness in my heart...)
I got a job.
I got my own bedroom (the happiness in my heart...)

That's basically it.

Finally it is a nice day this summer. I was doing water colour painting on the front porch this morning and swimming later. I've read a lot of books this summer including Frannie in Pieces, In Search of Mockingbird, The Book Thief, Once Upon a Marigold, Nation, The Wild Girls, plus a lot more. I have also been reading old Peanuts comics. Snoopy is awesome. I'll add some pics later. Gotta go for now!

My 100th Post!

Yeah! I finally have 100 posts! In school I'm doing a project on the volcano, Mt. Aso (if anyone knows what it's silica content is or what type of volcano is, tell me). I'm also reading The Magician, which is really good. I am also reading Three Cups of Tea, Chosen by a Horse, and Brisinger. I'm also listening to Tom Sawyer on my new, yellow ipod. So many books, so little time... Lucy is bigger and more annoying than ever, and nothing else is really going on. Well, bye!

p.s. Did I mention that this is my one hundredth post?
p.s.s. It is snowing.

Merry Christmas!

Hey everybody! Merry belated Christmas! So much has been going on. I got a new yellow ipod nano. It is so cool! It even has Get Smart on it. But the greatest Christmas gift I got was... a cold. Huzzah. Lucy got a duck for Christmas. She loves it. I've read 2 books over Christmas break: The Alchemyst (thanks Rainah!) and Cold Comfort Farm (Thanks Mom!) Both are good, Cold Comfort is a bit weird though... Well, see ya later!

Hot Chocolate!

I hope you guys had a good Thanksgiving. I've decided the next Christmas song for my blog it is one of my favorites, not because of the lyrics, but because of the animation and chocolate. It is Hot Chocolate from The Polar Express. Enjoy!

Libraries...

Ah, the sweet aroma of books breathing heavily on a shelf, sleeping until awoken by an excited reader. Which reminds me, I'm in my mom's library right now. That Twilight movie is coming out tomarrow. This has been the talk of the day at school. I got in a fight with Katie who insited that Twilight was the better than Harry Potter. Twilight is very good, but Harry Potter is still the best. I likes the whole Twilight series until the fourth. Three- quarters of it was very awkward, and by the time we got to the suspense waiting for something interesting to happen... they talk it over. That is it. Meyer is a good writer, I'll give you that. The fourth book fell way bellow her standard. If you want to be a good writer, you have to be good the whole series. Not the first three books. Sorry Leah. Well, I should probably go study for Spanish- bye!

Again...

it is snowing. Ah I love the snow, swirling and twisting in the air and also... Keep it up- we may have a snow day tomorrow! I Capture the Castle is really good, but on Netflix it says the movie is rated R. ?. I do not understand that. Well, I hope it keeps snowing. Bye!

Hey!

I just made a face book account and it isn't as fun as my blog, but you can i.m people and get flair... it is kinda addicting.

The Deathly Hallows

Sick...

Blah, I threw up my breakfast this morning, and now I am getting slightly bored, so I decided to type on my blog even though I don't have anything to type about. La la la... Oh yeah, the school's musical is going to be Willy Wonka Jr. I think I am just going to be stage crew. We get to make the set in art club too. I woke up at 3:00 this morning. I haven't been sleeping well. Oh, I am reading a really good book called I Capture the Castle. It is one of my mom's and J.K. Rowling's favorite books. Guess that is it. Oh yeah, I said I would put on another Christmas song, let me see, how about Rudolph the Red- Nosed Reindeer. I saw some deer at the bus stop the other day. Well, bye!

Christmas!

Get Myspace Christmas Countdown

I do.

Need a Snow Day?

Mom said...

that I should put the recipe for one of the most unhealthiest foods in the world on here- but it is so good!
Donut Holes: You need a Pillsbury biscuit package (only 50 cents:), oil, cinnamon, and sugar. Pull the biscuits apart and cut each one into 4 smaller pieces. While doing this, let the oil boil in a pot. Put the dough into the pot and stir. The cinnamon ad sugar needs to be mixed together in a bowl. Once the dough is brown, the someone has to quickly roll the donuts in the sugar, so you can be read for the next batch. This takes a total of about 5 minutes, and is really good. Try it some time! If you have any questions, ask.

It's snowing!!!

Huzzah! It is snowing! I like snow. It is sooo pretty. I can't wait until Christmas. I love a white one. Last year it was a boring green Christmas. This reminds me of one of my favorite Christmas songs- Heat Miser and Snow Miser. I can lip synch this song, and I have a whole dance to it. It makes me look like a nerd but I have fun with it. Well, I guess that is it- bye!
*Alissa
p.s. I need a new book to read.
p.s.s. I have decided to put up a new Christmas song every week if i have time.

Ha Ha!

Inkdeath Story Spoiler

I liked Inkdeath- especially the role Funke had Jacopo play. I'm sad that Meggie fell in love with Doria, I liked Farid:( Oh well. I wish Funke revealed her little brother's name. Oh yeah, press this to see a clip from the movie, Inkheart. Other than that, the book was great. I found out the German title for Inkdeath is Tintentod. For some odd reason, it isn't quite as menacing. My favorite character is either Meggie, Dustfinger, or the highly lovable Jasper. I also like Jink and Gwin. I have also grown a fondness for Brianna and Roxane, which I hadn't before. The picture at the top of the page is Meggie- just a FYI. Oh yeah, I just finished Ashes of Roses. It was so sad...

The school is doing a musical this year, and I think I'm doing it this year, but I don't know what it is yet... I finally got Inkdeath- it is great so far.

Tufted Titmouse

This is mom's (and one of my) favorite bird. Cute huh?

Can't Wait 'til December...

for many reasons. A.) The Tales of Beedle the Bard B.) Saint Nicholas Day C.) a week off of school D.) fun stuff at school E.) CHRISTMAS! I want the new yellow i- pod nano. Those are very cool. It has already snowed a couple times here. I can't wait until ski season. I love skiing. I like November too because A.) 3 days off of school and B.) Thanksgiving. This first marking period went by so quickly. There is only 5 more days to it. Well I guess that is it. Oh yeah, I am reading The Girl Who Heard Dragons which is good so far. I just finished The Calder Game, book club is still on Tunnels, and my class is reading Ashes of Roses. Jazz band just started too. I have been pretty busy.

Happy Hallowe'en!

I was Hermione- again. For school I stole Emily's medieval dress and was just a random medieval person. My neighbor hosts an annual Hallowe'en (that is how they spell it in England) party, which was okay but there was no one there my age, so mom and dad said I have to invite some friends over next year. I got a lot of chocolate! MMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe we are going to have a new president in 4 days (actually they are being sworn in in January I think). Lucy was a witch for Hallowe'en, but Caroline stole her hat. I need to get a picture of her online. I loved school yesterday! We saw the music video for the Thriller in science and we blew up candy. The sugar with certain chemicals makes a flame. Note: do not try that at home. Also, chocolate does not work very well. On Thursday we had Ellis Island day, try this website . It shows a whole bunch of people who came over. We got to dress up and make a whole story. I am Elise from France. My family heard fro my uncle that America is the place of opportunities. So my family went ahead and told me to come over when they got there. We had a lot of fun. Well, that's it!
*Alissa
p.s. Christmas is in a little less than two months!
p.s.s. On Emily's calender, it says that Harry Potter 6 the movie is coming out this month, but I heard it is coming out in the summer. Very confusing...

The Great American Race...

Which is the fight for the presidency right now. After watching three of the debates, I realized it doesn't seem like Bush is president any more, McCain and Obama are trying to win. Personally, I like Sarah Palin but to each his own. I think it's weird because we are running for student counsel at the same time. My friends Jessica (Jessie), Mary Kate, and Alexis are running, so I am going to vote for them. I'm glad they're running, because other years I don't know who the people are, so I just pick randomly. Well, I guess that is it, bye!

Runemarks

Rainah's lending this to me. She didn't like it much, but I thought I would give it try. I have gotten a hold of The Book of One Thousand Days , and I really like that. Oh yeah, Hale has more of an adult book out called Austenland, which was pretty funny. Well, guess that is it.

What I Want to Read

I loved all of Hale's other books, so I am going to read this when I get back to school.

Day of the Djinn Warriors

This is by P.B. Kerr. Been waiting a while for this. It was- good but confusing. Nothing has been happening. Went to jazz band and art club. I'm trying to do more things this year, as you can see. Well, gotta go.

I am very mad at myself...

Well, I thought that Inkdeath came out October 7th, but it turned out that it came out September 27. That wasn't very smart on my part. I'm also happy with myself though, even though I mixed up the dates. I'm stronger than last year. In gym, I came in second place in the mile run, did 39 sit ups in a minute, 11 push ups, and 2 pull ups. Yeah! For book club we are reading a book called Tunnels. It is pretty good so far. Well, gotta go!

New Nano

Hey guys! There's a pretty cool new nano out. It will shuffle songs if you shake it, and will make playlists for you too. The guy who reads Harry Potter is pretty good. I am going to ask for a new one for Christmas.
Bye!

The Book of Lost Things

I am reading this book right now. It is pretty good. A little creepy but good. It is about a boy who is accidently sent to another universe of fairy tales, only we aren't sure if they will end in a happily ever after (which they probably will, but i just had to say that). For example, Snow White is this fat person who wears white makeup. The seven dwarves tried to get rid of her, and blamed it on the witch who lives in their town. I so far recommend it.

Keys

I have started collecting antique keys after reading Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life. I got 5 more today, and twenty from my Grandma, but I gave 2 of those to Caroline. My other Grandma said that she could give me some. Aunt Chris said so too. I want the key that is on the cover of the book March. Cool, huh?

100 Push Ups

I am not very athletic (I think that I am going to wait until next year to do swimming) so mom got me to start doing this thing called 100 push ups. I am hovering right around 30. But they aren't going all the way down. Hey, I'm trying!

Hermione and School

Hermione's birthday is in 16 days. I am going to be her again for Halloween- fifth year running. Hey! I'm not as bad as Melanie! She's been a witch at least six times. Rainah, I think you should be Loony Lovegood. School's started again. Sigh... I don't think it will be too bad though. In fact I think it will be kind of fun! I like all my teachers. Well, I guess that is it.

Today is Labor Day (Happy Labor Day) which means school starts tomorrow. Great. Just great. This was a fun summer, but it went by too quickly. I won't be able to put up many posts during the school year now. Oh well. I will try to make this a fun year.

Snorg Tees

My favorite from the Snorg Tees.

Nothing But The Truth

This book is pretty bad but I had to read it for summer reading.

Rowling's Mistake

Hey everybody! I realized while listening to Harry Potter on my i- pod that Rowling made a huge mistake in book five. Sirius told Kreacher to get out so he did. But if you call to a house elf they will come. Kreacher did not come when Sirius called to him. I thought that you would just like to know.

Rumors

I heard a rumor that if you get a Breaking Dawn where it's barcode ends in a odd number, it will be different then the other books. Weird...
I also heard that Rowling might write a Harry Potter terms book.
The next Harry Potter movie will come out next summer.
Oh yeah, whatever you've heard about the movie Get Smart, it is really good.
That is all the rumors I know!

What I am Reading

Pretty good.

Ugh...

Ugh... This summer is moving sooo quickly. I do not feel like going back to school. Ugh. Plus I am beginning to sound like a demented cave man with all my ughs. I am thinking about joining the swim team at school. People, tell me if I should or not. Please? Hi to my family who just got back from Scotland. Melanie and Elise- did you bring back a Scottish Harry Potter for me? Harry Potter six movie is coming out next year. Lucy is getting big and I still need to put a picture of the cutest puppy in the world on my blog. Let me see, is anything else happening in my life? Have I mentioned that this summer is moving too quickly? And that I do not want to go back to school? I think I have. Oh, check out the link to the cute t-shirts. Okay, a couple are inappropriate, but a lot are cute. My favorites are the chocolate bunnies (what?), the chocolate and graham cracker chasing the marshmallow with pitch forks, the platypus, Harry is my Homeboy, and the theosaurus. There are probably others, but those are the ones I remember. Bye!
:)Alissa
P.S. I also like mixed martial arts and crafts, Milk- I am your father, and pirate encyclopedia.

Vermont

Hey everyone! Vermont is a pretty cool place. You can go on a giant slide down the side of the mountain called an Alpine slide. You can also go to Ben and Jerry's ice cream factory, which is very cool. There is also the VonTrapp Family Lodge. You can buy edelweiss there. Those are some of the many things you can do there. I am reading a really good book called Mythology. It is about the Gods and Heroes. If you have read The Lightning Thief, you should read this. It helps with your knowledge of the Gods.

Inkdeath

Inkdeath is the next installment of the Ink series, which are really good. Inkdeath comes out October seventh. I can't wait! The series are really good. Pre- order now! Oh yeah, the movie, Inkheart comes out March nineteenth.
*Alissa
p.s. This post is for my best friend Rainah, who will freak out reading this. She somehow likes the Ink series more than Harry Potter.

Books I am Reading

Okay, I figured out what that one book was, it was Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life it was really good, and makes you think a little bit more, plus now I want to collect keys. Right now I am reading Mythology: Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes. They are both good reads. I also suggest that you read Chinese Cinderella. It is a true tale of an unwanted daughter. It is sad, but it proves that there are Happily Ever Afters. Well I guess that is it. Bye!

Aren't all these little guys so cool? But where is diving?

Olympics

Have you seen the Opening Ceremony? It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. My favorite events are the diving and swimming. I want to see the fencing. That sounds cool. If I'm ever in the Olympics, I'll do the diving or fencing, which sounds like fun to learn. I hope everyone has seen the opening ceremony. I feel sorry for whoever hasn't. Well, the Olympics are back on, gotta go.

This is the nice version. Cool huh? 100 dollars through amazon. If you are a member of Barnes and Noble, 67.50 dollars.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard

We did awesome in the battle! Sixth place out of 36 libraries. We rule, and beat my friends Caroline and Bethany. We got 61 points out of 78. We rule! I read Breaking Dawn. It wasn't as good as Harry Potter. But still, it was okay. On December fourth, the Tales of Beedle the Bard are coming out. The nice copy is a hundred dollars:( but there is a cheap- o copy for twelve dollars, eight is you are a member of amazon. I can't wait!

Breaking Dawn

Breaking Dawn comes out August 3rd. The Twilight books aren't the greatest in my opinion, but they are okay. I think all the characters are a bit dramatic and poorly formed, but it is still okay. On a scale of one to ten, it gets a seven. Then again, I am not a huge romance fan. Vampires and werewolves aren't really my thing. My friend thinks vampires are the "most beautiful things in the world." Well, I will read the fourth book and tell you how it is. Harry Potter, who will turn eighteen tomorrow. We are making a birthday cake in the shape of Hogwarts for him. Well, see ya!

Could Someone Tell Me a Good Title for this Post?

Hola! It is summer! Ya! I have been swimming a lot at the beach. That is basically it. Someone tell me of a good book I could read please! I have been studying a lot for the battle. Oh, the next Twilight book is coming out soon. It is not as good as Harry Potter, which is the best. The title of this new book is Breaking Dawn which is the worst title I can think of. It sounds a little to much like breaking wind. Well I guess that is it. Bye!
*Alissa

The Books

Okay, I told you about the battle, now I will tell you about the books. The first one we read was the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. It is about Percy Jackson, who finds out that the Greek gods are real, and one of them is his father. Percy goes through a huge adventure with his new friends, Annabeth Chase, Athena's intelligent daughter, and Grover, a satyr with big dreams. This is probably the best Battle book.
The next one we read was The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo. This book is about a odd little mouse, a kind princess, a misunderstood rat, and a unwanted girl who all come together in a story that lightens the heart and warms the soul. Another really good book.
Next was Dairy Queen, a book about cows, romance and football.
The next book is Birdwing, about Ardwin who has remnants of a curse and blessing leaving him with one goose wing. Pretty good.
Next was Drums, Girl, and Dangerous Pie which is about Steven's little (and annoying) brother suddenly getting cancer. It is a really good book. The author, Jordan Sonnenblick, seemed to want to tell the readers how horrible and sad cancer is, but didn't want his book to be a tearjerker. In fact it could be downright funny at times. Sonnenblick still manages to get his point across.
The final book is called Here Lies the Librarian, which mostly has to do with cars. It was okay, but not my favorite.
The books (in order from my favorite to least) are again The Lightning Thief; Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie; The Tale of Despereaux; BIrdwing; Here Lies the Librarian; and Dairy Queen.
I hope this has given you good summer reading books. Join the Battle next year! It is nine days until Harry's birthday!

The Battle of the Books

If you don't know about the Battle of the Books, it is where we throw heavy, hard covered books at each other. Just kidding! It is where children sign up at libraries to do it, and then they read the required book for that week, and go to a weekly meeting where they compete against other students that have signed up for the Battle in pay Battles to see how well they know the book. Then there is a real battle where your library competes against other libraries to see how well they know they books. This year the books are The Lightning Thief; The Tale of Desperaoux; Dairy Queen; Birdwing (the author will be at the real battle); Drums, Girls, ad Dangerous Pie; and Here Lies the Librarian. It is a lot of fun, and you should do it next year.

Interesting Stuff

I was getting bored so I looked up interesting stuff about Harry Potter. Here it is. Bill and Fluer's 3 kids are Victorie, Dominique, and Louis. Charlie never married. Percy married someone named Audrey. They had 2 kids, Molly and Lucy. Fred died (in the Battle of Hogwarts) in 1997. George married Angelina Johnson and had 2 kids, Fred and Roxanne. Ron married Hermione and their kid are Rose and Hugo. Ginny and Harry married having James Sirius, Albus Severus, and Lily Luna. Luna married Rolf (the grandson of Newt Scamander) and had twins, Lorcan and Lysander. Neville married Hannah Abbot. Malfoy married Astria Greengrass and had Scorpius Hyperion. Cho Chang married an unknown muggle. Hermione's birthday is September 19, 1980. Fred and George's birthday is April 1, 1978. Fred died in 1997. Harry's birthday is July 31, 1980. Ron's birthday is March 1, 1980. Percy was born in 1976. Ginny and Luna's birthday is 1981. James Sirius' birthday is in 2004. Albus Severus and Rose's birthday is in 2005. Lily Luna and Hugo's birthday is in 2007. At the very end of book 7 the year is 2016, at which Teddy Lupin is 19 years old (birthday in 1997). Hagrid is 87 years old at the end of the book (born in 1929). When Voldemort dies he is 72 years old (born in 1925). Errol is a great gray owl and Pigweodon is a scops owl. The last thing I found is that the core of the elder wand is a thestral hair. Well, I think that is it.

Can't Think of a Good Title

I don't have much going on- except that I just finished Queste by Angie Sage. It was pretty good. Anyone have good book titles- I don't have any books to read since I finished Queste well I guess that is it. Do you ever realize that teachers never give you any projects, and then they suddenly give you a billion all at the same time? Well, bye!

Happy May First!

Yeah, it's May! You know what that means? School will be done in a few months. Huzzzah! I am going to be getting a new book I have been wanting to read. Queste. Well, I guess that is it. Got to fly!

Bored

I do a lot of stuff, I go to school, take drum lessons, come home, eat, sleep, read, do homework, and all that junk. I feel like I am walking in a rut that grows deeper the more I tread it. GRRR! I want summer! Sorry about telling you about all my woes, but i guess I should not complain, my life could be a lot worse! At least I have my family.

Places to Visit

Go to Niagara Falls, it is a lot of fun. Go to the Falls, that includes the Horseshoe Falls people! Go to the Hershey's store to. The ceiling is chocolate! YYYYYUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMM!!! The Rainforest Cafe is a treat too, there are animals that move and there are well, rainforesty stuff. Well I am thinking about it, save the trees and do not do your homework:) (I am joking, you would probably get skinned, resurrected, and skinned again. Well, got to fly! I hope I've given you some ideas of what to do someday.

Spring has Sprung!

Finally! Spring is here! It has actually reached almost 66 degrees. Wow. It was funny today... Lucy's ball went down into the ravine and she chased after it- looking like a total spaz. We just finished another science project. I was doing the Skeletal and Muscular System, and did good on it (sorry I'm not being humble, I was just nervous about doing bad). We have some really pretty crocuses blooming, and I am getting bored to death in math. Zzzzzz...... Well I guess that is it. Oh yeah I nearly forgot... The sun will blow up in a month on May 5 at 7:03a.m (make sure you read on). And now if you believed that please don't mind me saying "Ha". I'm sorry, but I really do not think the sun will be blowing up anytime soon. Please don't come after me now with pitchforks and torches. (Ahhhhhhhhh........ I am so scared.)

Snow..... Again

The snow is so pretty here. It is collecting on the trees making there branches sag. We have to duck every time we go outside. I was really hoping today would be a snow day but alas, no. Sigh.... I don't have anything going on, since the science fair finished. I am happy about that. My project was about keeping your bouquets alive with different solutions like using sugar, lemon juice, lemon lime soda, Listerine mouthwash, tap water, and plant food. The best is tap water and, well, just don't use mouthwash, the flower's stems snap after a week. Well I guess that is it. Bye!

Hi!

Hoppy Easter everyone! I got tons of chocolate! A big solid chocolate bunny! Mmmmmmm.... Lucy is doing fine- although we are having a little trouble potty training her. She is soo cute! Like a little furball. She has already grown since we got her.

Flying

I don't have anything going on- so I will tell a story of my own.-
She felt like she was flying. Higher than the sun and clouds, faster than the speed of light. Everything was changing. Faster than spring. But suddenly she was falling. Colors flying around her- going so fast she felt sick. This wasn't right. It was supposed to be good. Everything was going wrong. She knew it. The world knew it. It all stopped. She could hardly see. She walked through the eerie mist. Slowly at first, then at a run. There were wings on her heels. She was soaring again, though not as fast nor as high as before. Finally she reached the place she had been aiming for- the land of stories and fantasies. It was so real so perfect yet... There was darkness looming around the corner, searching for her. Always. She would be safe if she kept her head and worked. The whole world would have to help her. Dragons, vampires, werewolves, fairies, nixies, pixies, nymphs, mermaids, and thousands of other creatures. Yet she had no idea of what this danger was. But she could be safe. With all her imagination and friends. Safe.-
I feel that this story means that you have your up and down days but with a little help and imagination, you can have a good day. I think an even better title for this story is Life.

I Don't Know of a Good Title

I guys! Sorry I haven't talked in a while. Try this new website (you can link to it through my blog). It is after the really good Warrior series. It is a lot of fun. We saw the puppies- they are so cute! We are going to name her Lucy almost for sure. We are getting her really soon. Well, try the website, along with all my other ones under Favorite Links and Blogs. That includes looking at the other blogs. Well, talk to you later! Go (or try) skiing. It is a lot of fun.

My Daemon

My Daemon

Have you read The Golden Compass? The first book was good, but not the other two. I took the quiz to see what my daemon was, it was a fox. It's name is Sergius. It said that I am modest, inquisitive, proud, spontaneus, and responsible. I am not sure that I am too proud, but it is just a quiz. I didn't do what would really be me, but a fox is my favorite animal. I did Dad's daemon and it was a spider, which I wasn't too keen on putting on my blog.

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, and Keep on Snowing

It is snowing pretty hard here. I can't wait to go skiing! We just got to go outside yesterday at school!:) My friend, Rainah was sick though so she couldn't enjoy it.:( It was very windy and the snow was right in our faces. I've been waiting for it though, so I don't mind. I am more excited for the Golden Retriever pup we might be getting. It will probably be female. I like Lilly the best, but Dad not so much. So far we are leaning towards Lucy. Tell me if you have any other names! Not a lot of people seem too excited. That includes you Muser! One of my friends dislikes all of the names we have thought of. "You can't name a dog a people name!" I pointed out that one of her own dog's name is Lady which could be a person name like a Lord or Lady. Her other dog's name is Simba, which I forgot to tell her means lion in Sawhili or some place like that. She also told me that if the dog is big, name it Tiny and if it is small, name it huge. I feel bad for whatever dog falls into her hands! I told her that I might as well name it Estupido (Spanish for stupid), and she thought that was a great name! I got kind of annoyed, so I asked if she had any better ideas. "What about Abilabi?" I just felt dumbstruck, so I changed the subject to the instruments we play, since Rainah had just started the French Horn. I play the drums and my friend plays the viola. She said drums were easy! You just bang on it. She doesn't even know how to hold a stick, play a five stroke roll, or even do a flam! She can't even twirl a stick, even though for months I tried to show her. Finally, she said that I couldn't play the viola- who cares? So I changed the subject to books, which everyone fell asleep in. Well, I hope that everyone is happy and well, and doesn't have friends who abuses your instruments.

Gifts, Gifts, and More Gifts

Christmas is over (boo who) but it was fun. Emily is singing terribly with her new i-pod, Caroline is annoying us with a singing Hannah Montana doll, Mom accidently got Dad a classic i-pod instead of a touch, and I gave Mom a charm with the Chinese symbol of love. I got a lot of things. The prominant of the few is a really cool remote control car, a Harry Potter desk calender, books, a fairy named Mayflower (or just May), and a fairy named Autumn. Well, I hope you had a nice Christmas, Happy New Year!!!!!

Christmas Eve

I won't sleep tonight, it is Christmas Eve and Santa is coming. We should also never forget the main reason of Christmas- Jesus' birthday. Happy Birthday Jesus! ( I'll be too busy tomorrow to write on my blog).Think of Sugar Plum Fairies tonight! I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited! I will see my whole (very large) family tomorrow. My friend told me that tonight Mars and the Moon will line up. It shall be very bright (unless she is confused with last night). Well, I guess that is it for today (except for making cookies and fudge today) except I would like to say this with total dignity: Merry Christmas 'arry, Ron, and 'ermione! Merry Christmas to everyone else! Have a wonderful holiday!

The Eve of Christmas Eve

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! (Beat that Rachel!) Two more days until Christmas! I can't wait! I have all my gifts bought, wrapped, and under the tree. I have a fairy doll very excited to be at the top of the tree (she is also part angel). We will have a white Christmas too! (Unless there is some sort of catastrophic meltdown.) I can't wait! Tomorrow night I will ask dad to show me how to use the computer in my bedroom so when I wake up two hours early I can watch a movie on it. I don't have much to say. I want to post again to show some pictures from October (we forgot the camera at my grandparents house). Oh yeah! I got a couple of links under the Favorite Links and Blogs that are Christmasy. One is HILARIOUS. You can turn yourself into an elf- highly recommended. The only flaw is that you can only make elfs til about January second (I think). The other website is one where you can make snowflakes- some people get really neat ones. Well if I don't write to you before then- Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blizzard

There is supposed to be a snow storm today. It hasn't been too bad, but I am hoping there will be a snow day tomorrow. I told you that I would tell you about Saint Nicolas Day. Saint Nicolas is said to come from Spain. He travels with slaves that are now his friends. If you are bad, he will hit you with sticks. If you are really bad, he will put you in a bag and take you to Spain, while if you are good and leave your shoe by the fireplace with some hay and carrots for his horse, he will leave you some toys in your shoe. I got a snowman charm from him this year. While, I guess there isn't anything else to tell you- except that the play got cancelled.

Nine More Days 'til Christmas!

We have this really cute advent calender. It has little fairies and animals on it. Today was my turn to open it,and I got a little wagon with a teddy bear and present in it. In a few days it will be my older sister's, Emily, sweet sixteen. She likes the Mary Poppins movie so I decided to get her the book. For Christmas I got her the female Shrek baby because she likes Shrek.I haven't gotten Caroline's gift (but I am thinking of going in on a mini i-dog with Emily.) I have mom's gift, but she may look at this so I can't say. I got Dad what he wanted, socks. It was nearly impossible to find socks in his size, he wears a sixteen, so he will have to make do with a fifteen. Hmmmm? is there anything else I should be telling to the very few (probably only my friends and mom who feel bad for me) people? I guess not. I am going to see the Best Christmas Paegent today. Well, if I can not write sooner, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!(Oh man, I forgot to talk about Saint Nicholas Day! Maybe next time..............................................................)

Great Reads

It is impossible to get my blog posted all the time, because of school. I have read some really good books that you are sure to like. There is Eclipse by Stephenie Meyers. It is the third in the series about a girl who falls in love with a vampire, and is best friends with a werewolf. There is the Redwall series by Brian Jacquas. It is a good series about animals who have to protect theirselves, and the ones they love. There is also the Mistmantle Chronicles by M.I. McAllister. It is about animals caught between good and evil. Another good series is The Guardians of Ga'hoole by Kathryn Lasky about owls and their battles to keep a historic place safe. There is also the Pendragon books by D.J. Machale about people who can travel through different worlds. There is also, of course, Harry Potter by Joanne Kathleen Rowling about young wizards at a school of magic where some of the deadliest surprises lay just around the corner. I hope that gives you some ideas of something to read. If you like magic, you are probably going to like them.

So Much

There is so much to tell you.My little sister Caroline's birthday is coming up VERY soon. So is Thanksgiving, my older sister Emily's birthday, St. Nicholas Day, and Christmas. All the stuff hits at once, doesn't it? Sheesh my birthday is in May (the best month there is) but the only holiday is Queen Elizabeth's birthday (I think) but I don't live in England, so that doesn't really count. No one likes May. I only need to get gifts for Caroline. I can tell you what I got for everyone else, but they might read this. I'll tell you after Christmas, one of the best holidays, besides Hermione's birthday (September 19). Another reasonably good holiday is Fred and George's birthday, April Fools Day. I have done some VERY interesting things, that you are not aloud to know until my parents get around to getting the AWESOME pictures. You can guess but not know. (Ominous music.)

The Broom is Done!

The broom is done! Hooray! We want to change the name to the Rising Phoenix in spanish, Phoenix Creciente.Sounds good, doesn't it. Dad did a great job on it. The Quidditch World Cup will be favoring this to the Firebolt. It has speed, light weight, brake, grip, comfort, parachute, and thousands of other charms placed on the Phoenix Creciente. It'll be for the small price (for such a good broom) of 300 galleons. This doesn't include shipping and handling. The broom is breath taking, isn't it?

Coming Up To Halloween

It's 6 days to Halloween! Last year I got to go to school in my costume as Hermione. This year, they aren't letting us dress up! I wanted to show everyone my add - ons. I've decided to just wear all most everything, except my robes and my Hermione bag. Last year, one boy dressed up as a kissing booth - which is funny, even though he didn't get any kisses. Another boy dressed up as an ostrich rider. I could go on all day talking about what people wore, but those were just the prominant two. We already got our pumpkins, but they are almost all thrown out from rotting. We have to get more. I suggest watching It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, which is really cute. I'll try writing again soon, but until then, Happy Halloween!

Sorry!

Sorry I haven't written in a while. I've been busy between school, friends, family, homework, and drums. I'll have even less time when I start up jazz band. I can't believe that it's September 30 already. For Halloween, I'm going to be Hermione for the forth year running. Today I'm going to see High School Musical. Not my first play choice, but it will be nice to get out. I've just recently been to Peek 'n' Peek for the family's annual golf tournament. Dad messed up my aunt's swing by yelling four when she was about to hit the ball. We went swimming in their indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub. They also have a waterslide there! We played pool and foosball. We pretended that we were quidditch teams like the New York Nifflers. There was this cool putt putt golf course complete with waterfalls. We stayed up until midnight on one of those singing games which was a ton of fun. I definetly suggest going to Peek 'n' Peek.

Make Way For Ducklings!

In Boston we saw Make Way For Ducklings. The ducklings were so cute! I read in a book called Going to Boston: The Freedom Trail Mystery that two of the ducks had been stolen. They remade them. One duck was found by BU. Authorites thought that college students stole it as some sort of joke. It's leg was too mangled to put back in the Common, so they put it in a children's hospital for the kids delight. I don't remember what happened to the other one, except they had to remake it. We had a nice time in the Common. We rode the swan boats. Caroline and Emily liked the swans best, although I liked the beauty of the ride, the ducks, and the many weeping willows, which are my favorite kind of tree. I think that was mom and dad's favorite part too. We also saw this cool tree which I believe is called a weeping oak.

Where in the World was Alissa?

Louisa May Alcott's House: Orchard House

Hello! I've just been in Boston and Concord Massachusetts. We saw Louisa May Alcott's house, the aquarium, Boston's huge Borders, Make Way for Ducklings, the old North Church, and many other things. We also visited our friends Aunt Julie, Uncle Bos, Brennan, Caroline, Charolotte, and Martha. The best thing in Concord was Louisa May Alcott's house. In Boston it was the aquarium and the swan boats.

My favorite fish were the sea horses and dragons. The runners up are the crystal jellyfish and the blue lobster.

Runners Up: Crysyal Jellyfish and Blue Lobster
